Dr. Morgan Baker,

Aslan Institute, Minnesota

I have to say, I feel most optimistic about the change that is coming (albeit long overdue) in the realm of heath care.  As a chiropractic physician, I am seeing more and more people walk into my office with the desire to find their health through natural means rather than pharmaceutical ‘magic bullets.’  An even more enlightened portion of my clientele walk in seeking preventative care instead of trying to alleviate symptoms.
When seemingly healthy people are told they should take a drug to prevent a disease that they may or may not ever have, AND when said research is paid for by the makers of said drug, the public is forced to look at the way we treat our bodies.  Taking a drug that has ten times more side effects than it has intended effects is absurd.  (Think about it.)
Back to my point, I am encouraged by the fact that most solutions to today's diseases are inexpensive, natural, and right at our fingertips!  Instead of paying Big Pharma in excess of $200 billion a year for their products, we could be using that money ourselves to pay for gym memberships, organically and locally grown foods, and health services that take into account our whole selves--body, mind, and spirit.  We have the power to take back our health; it’s hard not to be optimistic!
