Keeping the fire burning ...

Amanda Van Slooten, a NewPage Corp. co-op last summer, became the new student government president. Here's how she answered a question about what would change when she took over:
Will it change when you take over as President?"The focus will not change. I will continue to make the Michigan Tech students’ concerns my priority. I am very optimistic about this semester and I am still actively seeking passionate individuals to fill two sophomore representative positions as well as a junior representative position.
I will effectively implement change using past experience from courses I have taken and from my co-op with NewPage. With an open ear I urge students to come to USG with any issue they may have."

It was encouraging to see someone take the lessons of RapidChange and LeanSixSigma back into the academic world and make it part of their personal philosophy. Congrats and good luck!
